Pimenta De Neyde - 10 Seeds
The original! Discovered in Brazil by a woman named Neyde Hidalgo. It is an accidental cross between a Capsicum Annuum and Capsicum Chinense. Its growth habit is like an Annuum but most other traits tend to be Chinense. This one variety is responsible for most of the dark foliaged chinense varieties that have come out in the last decade or so.
Dark almost black pods when ripe, dark foliaged plant. Pods that are shaded from the sun tend to have a lighter purple shading. Heat level is at the low end of Habanero (approximately 150-250K scovilles) A great variety if you've never grown before. Also great if you are looking to create your own pepper varieties using cross pollination.
